The layup begins with two large plies of BID. I precut the pieces and masking taped the edges, well oversized. Then laid the first one in position wetted out the middle slightly and trimmed to size before wetting out properly. I did the same on the second ply and had a good result with nice straight 45 on the bias. You can see the second ply in pic 1 just going down.
Pics 2 & 3 show the next 7 UNI layups done. I was too messy to take shots in between. Again it was slow careful work using the foil and peeling off from the top and then bottom maintaining straight cloth at all times and really using my positioning marks fully. Maybe overkill with the marking pen but I am painting the wings later 😉
Peel ply came at the end and I might just use one big piece next time. I’m happy with the layup and improvement in my UNI technique over quite a challenging section.
