The outboard baffles went in today.
First up was more prep work for the leading edge pieces. Some glass and peel ply.
Next I prepared the outboard end baffle pieces. Lots of careful fitting.
Floxing them in was a little different this time. I found that a straight edge clamped would keep things in line nicely. This is one of those things where if it was a bit out it wouldn’t matter at all! No one would ever see it once the strake skins went on and this has no particular strength or operational value a half inch either way. I’m still trying to make them straight. You can draw your own conclusions on OCD, a desire for consistent quality workmanship or some other dysfunction. My theory is to do my best, but only within reason, throughout the build. Its not about what other people see.
I’m looking forward to cleaning this up when it cures. I used 16 X 2 ply BID tapes and peel plied them. It takes a while.
Here’s a shot of the ribs and baffles so far. Suddenly my plane ‘project’ is bigger.
