A bit of working out today. I have these Cozy sticks I’m adapting for the Long-EZ. I have decided to stay with HM3 size rod ends for the joining of front and back. I’m happy with the forces here and everywhere else gets the HM4 size rods.
Given the stick was drilled out for HM4 I’ve added some solid oiled bearings to step down the hole size. You can see them in pic 1.
I bent the front control stick a little in the vice to get things lining up better. It looks like these were made for the Cozy and a couple of holes added in the middle and it becomes a Long-EZ front stick. This gives you holes on angles to deal with.
You can see in pic 3 some spacers between the rod ends. I made a few up today and it seems like I have the desired result. I used a bit of scrap 3/4 tube to test bolt it all together.
