After the outer sheer web had cured it needed an edge clean up. I left the heater on overnight so the layup sat in 30C for about 24 hours.
I shaved the edges after removing some peel ply with a vibration cutting disk. Its noisy but worked well taking it from pic 1 to pic 2 in a couple of hours. Yes there are no quick jobs. In fact this was all over two days. I finished the edges with a permagrit sanding stick. Love those things. It will still need a bit more rounding before the front area layup.
Meanwhile during the cure the hardpoints drifted slightly. I caught it in time as I was checking every hour or so at the start of the cure. Good thing too. It made a bit of a mess of my nice careful flox areas but those alloy piece ARE in the right places.
In pic 3 you can see I’m adding a little flox now so that I can then smooth it all out. This means the BID layups on top will have a smooth transition. Once this cures thats the next job, a nice small layup for a change.
