Today was the top skin on the right strake. I’d done some prep yesterday but it was still an all day thing.
First up was a lot of micro to fill the slots and cover the divinycell. This was after some sanding and smoothing around all the edges.
As usual for these bigger layups I’ve cut the glass to length and have them rolled up and good to go. This layup is just two full plies and a 5″ wide one at the end.
Here’s the first ply down.
Here’s setting up the second ply before wetting it out.
After all the plies and a bit of peel ply round the edges.
I’ve used the EZ Epoxy which is proven fuel resistant here as I have enough over to do the outside skins as well as the final closing of the common sump. Should there be any pin holes in the underside of the top skin it seems reasonable to have the same epoxy next. I do like the golden colour too.
