Once the long pieces of BID was down I added the small 3 ply layup to the outboard end. Easy.
Next up was the Carbon. I’m using Twill 198Gram Toray Co6347B (in case I need to reorder). My idea is to just make that hinge area a bit stiffer than plans. One possible weak spot for a VNE limit is aileron flutter so this and the balance are getting extra attention. There was also a case of ailerons locking up in a high G turn due to flex in this area. My first use of carbon on the build.
After the carbon I applied another ply of BID local to the hinges. So I’m just the Carbon extra to plans here. I then rechecked for any bubbles all over the layup and added peel ply just in the hinge area and at the outboard rib join for good measure.
Finally I just got my aluminium pieces and wooden sticks (covered with tape) and used every small clamp I had to get those glass to glass areas straight and tight.
The left wing trough is next. I’m too slow to do both in a day …and only have so many clamps.
