Just the other two ribs today making all four now in position.
This is the left side BL45 Rib
You can see the rib profiles changing quite dramatically as we blend one airfoil into another.
On the right side for the long BL23 RIB I set up another board off the workbench propped up by a bit of dowel. For a clamp base it works as well as anything fancy. There was a lot of ducking and weaving to work in that little space.
Again things lined up OK using the straight edge box aluminium and a plumb bob.
Here are the four ribs in placed. Really six if you count the outboard ones or even eight if you count the fuselage sides. I can see a few unexpected challenges as the software that generated the co-ordinates might have a bug or two now I can see it all in the physical world. I do have the curves I need. I just may have to play with some levels to make it work. This is the experimental category of aircraft partly for ‘education’ after all. No shortage of teachable moments on this build.
