The pivot blocks get 4 plies of BID to secure them to the floor and sides.
Two days ago I’d added a little micro to smooth out the side transitions which you can see as white areas in the 1st and 3rd pics.
It took a bit of thinking given the angles of the block and I played around with paper cutouts until I arrived at the pic 1 configuration. This needs one leg folded before the other at the forward end of the block.
I worked on two 2 ply layups per side. With foil side up I could smooth the glass down and carefully remove the foil before folding in the two ‘tabs’ at the narrow or front end of the block.
It worked out pretty well and then I did the same with the next combine 2 ply foiled piece giving me the 4 plies called out for in the plans. I added some peel ply for good transitions as you might be able to see in pic 3.
After a day to cure I’ll remove the peel ply, maybe a light sand and clear the hole to the nutplate which just has a little tape over it for now.
