The nose lift wiring has to exit the gear box without an air leak…but it needs to allow the short lead plug to still be installed. Tricky. My solution after putting on the two click bond studs was a stepped flange and cover in garalite G10.
Yeah bit precious of me I’spose. If you look at pic 1 you can see a slight step in the installed piece. I can get the cable and plug through the big hole and the have the flange of the plug sitting on that lip flush with the top of the insert piece. OK then the second top piece goes on and they both get mated together forming a seal after a couple of nuts go on as you see in pic 2.
Pic 3 is my work environment while I’m still installing the canard. This job with the box was happening in between a lot of sanding.
