More work securing the nose box. I drilled through the hardpoint locations so the holes matched. It was a bit of a job as I had to remove the nose lift to get the sort of plates you see in pic 2 located in the lightning holes.
Oh and I made up nutplates from 5005 H34 aluminium. I had a few pieces and while this stuff is soft its fine for the purpose. The usual drill and then alodine. After matching the holes I just floxed the plates and put a wax coated screw in to hold the plate in place. Once cured out it comes and the plate is correctly located.
Pic three shows that I have 3 screws per side now. I’m still to finish off the cable locator. I might add a couple of sealing strips upper and lower too. Overall its a good strong box that covers the gear and is getting close to air tight.
Screws used for the box are: MS35206-246
One day I hope to might meet the guy who works out the MS numbering…I have questions.
