Earlier in this build I have spend HUGE amounts of time making a box to house the electric nose lift so that it doesn’t leak cold air from outside the plane. Many people have done this and everyone seems to do it differently. After what must have been 30 or more hours on this I decided that what I built was too heavy!
Plan B was to make a sort of sock around the gear leg. Pic 1 shows what needs sealing. The nose lift actuator goes in the hole. I’ve removed it for now.
Pic 2 shows some aluminium I had lying around ready to be cut to the hole template size. Pic 3 and I have my two plates and have match drilled them and started mounting nut plates. A plan is forming.
What needs sealing? Yeap that big hole.
