I checked my controls on the flying Long-EZ yesterday. The front stick is 3″ from the right fuselage wall and the rear is 2.5″. This is exactly what I have in my ‘displaced’ bulkheads on the new build so they are GOOD.
Today was getting that lower control rod installed and riveting in the insets for the rod ends. All done and not worth a photo really. You have seem rivets right? 😉 I still need to chase up some CRES (stainless) and teflon washers.
What was expected was that the front seat opening had to be widened about .75″. More of a surprise was the need to also lower that opening. I must have made an error in the inital access hole placements or maybe I’ve got the armrests placed too low. I remeasured a few times and it seems OK. So I’m going with what I have and I’ve adjusted the access hole to suit as you see in the pics. I’ll seal it all with micro later.
