These jigs were made over a few days. I needed something to hold the axles that was simple yet solid. The axles are a press fit into these jigs…all I had to do was position the axles and then screw them into the axle pad templates right?
Pic 2 is a drilling jig for the 1/4″ long drill bit. There is the danger of twist but I made the plywood cap exactly to the size of the axle outside. So…if you line up the flats you are in line with no twist, easy! There is threaded rod with nuts as well holding it all together.
Pic 3… there is a chance I may end up with straight mounting holes in the gear legs. I only get one shot at this.
