More prep work for the CS Spar outer sheer web layup. Now the surface is nearly good to go. I’ve drawn lines as a guide to keeping the cloth bias correct at 45 degrees. Its a lot easier when drawn although +- 10 degrees is acceptable according to the plans. The main thing is to keep the bias straight for maximum strength.
The second pic is laying out the pieces of cloth. Yes I over do this and cut way too much causing wastage. Early on I tried to save cloth and ran short on the job a couple of times. Its just not worth it so I end up with some spar scraps for small jobs. Not a big deal.
The last pic is cutting out some peel ply for the final step. I’ll use lots of pieces as this produces less air bubbles and is easier to lay out although more bits takes longer. Its a pretty weird shape as the contour of the spar turns inward at the last inch.
Looking forward to getting this layup done and moving on with the spar construction.
