The winglets need a measuring system. Plans want me accurate to .05″ on 2 of the three points and even with some give on the third, I still have to have both winglets exactly the same so I might as well shoot for perfect on all three points.
I’m using pieces of aluminium sharpened at one or two ends as these are nice and straight. You can see in pic two I’m lining up on the wing reference point. I then get to measure out to the LE and TE of the winglet.
From here I set up tables, tape, foam blocks and phone books as well as a piece of wood clamped to the end bench. All this let me set up the winglet in position so I could draw out a mark…
