I’ve spend a couple of days on this. I’m adding pour foam filler to the side of the canopy rail. Batch by batch. Given that the canopy I received is far too wide I’m trying to reduce the suppliers error by making the side parallel rather than curving in. It will change the look of the plane a little, but hey! I’m sitting inside it so the issues are minimum drag rather than maximum aesthetic appeal.
The first part of this is getting the sides built up where the canopy rail is and having it correct with the sides at the absolute maximum width, which is parallel.
So far so good. Next up I have to trial fit the canopy and sort out the rollover intersection. I think I need some sort of jig attached to the fuselage. I have no clue what I am going to do to achieve this tomorrow. This is airplane building at the pointy end.
Parallel to the longeron sides side so far 🙂
