Left winglet top skin time. After lots of prep and 5mt glue to hold the winglet secure it was a rare day when I didn’t have to heat the room. It was already cozy. After the wet micro I made a really stiff batch and did the conduit channels up to the surface. Trailing edge half an inch and leading edge for 2″ around got pure epoxy and then a batch of flox for the winglet tip flox corner. I’ll show that later in the clean up pics.
Pic 2 is just showing off the nice straight fibers before wetting them out. You can see the conduit channels below. Oh I did give the cured micro a sand before adding the top filler, acetone wipe in other areas, the usual drill.
Pic three shows the layup all done. Two plies of UNI and the smaller ply of BID. I clamped up the trailing edge to ensure it is straight although more to be certain the glass to glass area is well met and bonded. Maybe overkill …it was easy so why not?
These are a nice size layup…oh I probably said that before.
