I used WPRP as the datum for positioning the left winglet. As before this involves cutting out the antenna cable access so the winglet can be lined up in position. Then a line is drawn and next the cutout made as you see in pic 2. It took a few hours again…
I used sharpen aluminium at my fixed distance rulers. These are great for setting up compared to metal rulers or even tape measures. You can’t argue with box aluminium. You can see I’ve made a pointer at one end in pic 1. I also used some angle aluminium which was sharpened in the same manner.
Pic 2 has the cutout but also a little slab of scrap glass that I used to better position the winglet. Once this was trimmed it really helped speed up the setup. Pic 3 has a few small blocks just 5mt glued to the winglet. Given this sits on the edge of the cutout, this just made a bigger surface to ease the lining up processes.
I also used books and ice cream sticks. Yes they were less professional I know but got the job done. I’ll keep working on doing these things a little better. A winglet hanging in space is a bit challenging.
