A couple of days worth of clean up. First the FC1 rib had its edges filed and a little sandpaper here and there. I’m still using the multitool for gross trimming then permagrit tools, coarse and finally fine. Works out pretty well.
The three ply of UNI terminate about 2 inches past the leading edge and I spent a while smoothing out that transition while the wing was still in the jigs. I used the multitool sander and then hand files and finally sandpaper.
Once the wing was out of the jig and on its side I added the 1 ply of BID to the FC1 internal hardpoint. Its about 4″X4.5″ A nice quick layup using foil and a little flox for edge transition.
Finally this morning I got a hand from Darren putting the Left hand wing on the wall. Yes there are a few little jobs left. The aileron area is not straight enough on one wing and there are a two small areas that will get an epoxy injection, the ailerons are still to be made and so on… but lets look at the big picture. Wings on the wall!
I spent several hours today reading the canard chapter info and laying out foam on the bench, looking at the canard jigs and still working on understanding the required steps. Thanks to all who do these sort of logs on line…I’m looking at your canard construction pics!
