After the U shaped pipe was cured, it needed to come off the mold.
All this needed was the dremel cutoff wheel and a little time. The duct tape works really well for a release. If I needed it to be beautiful, there are other methods.
You can see the width of the cut line here.
As planned I have more than the needed 180 degree turn. This allows a little fine adjustment and room to make clean cuts at the ends.
Time to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. I used a little hot glue on the inside to hold the pieces exactly together. This was later removed. Single ply strips of carbon applied separately for my two ply layup work a lot better than wetting out two plies and then putting them on as one.
An interesting shape to work with. A little peel ply to transition the joins.
After cure a bit of a sand and I have a great shape that weighs a fraction of the aluminium donut.
All done and ready for the next step in this induction marathon.
