I usually don’t count planning in this log however as I have made some boxes out of foam to the exact sizes of my items perhaps it should be documented. This is my way of configuring what goes where as I’m yet to buy some of these toys. I’ve been working on the avionics and the layout for a long time.
Pic 1 is the plan I’ve been doing on the kitchen table. Pic 2 and I’ve finally got to do a real world check of how it might fit using my foam blocks. Well the first thing is that the audio panel looks like it will NOT fit under my main G3X display screen given where I want to glass the top of the nose on is going to be an inch or so too high now!
OK, that will go to the left hand side after I do a really careful size check and we should be good. It seems that as the rear of the panel slops down on the nose of the plane, things are going to not fit in the 3D world as well as they do in the 2D world.
Next up my two proposed batteries will not fit by about 0.5″ OK this means I need to rework my front gear cover just a little so the batteries can fit a touch lower to clear the front hatch. This is in Pic 3. I think a couple of remote boxes are going under the front seat as there is zero room in the nose. So much for the dream of extra storage space there.
Its looks like tomorrows dance card is full as I get to tweak some of these spaces.

Where do these go?
