Once cured I had to remove the side dam. This took a few hours and more work is still to be done to get the cap smooth on top, matching the remaining foam and having a nice rounded edge ready for the outer shear web.
For now it was great to see a perfect looking piece of fiberglass that seems more like a metal beam. As you can see in pic 3 it just looks like a solid mass.
It was also surprising how much heavier the spar is to pic up…. which makes sense remembering all that resin that we put in. It is amazing to think the wings are going to be bolted to this structure.
