Its nearly time to put the sides on the common sump. First up is to secure the pipe fittings while its still easy!

Three of the fittings are AN833-6D (3/8″ pipe) elbows and matching nuts AN924-6D (I think) The fourth fitting will be my low fuel optical sensor and I don’t even have the NPT tap for that yet.

First up I dremelled down to the aluminium insert and left enough around that for the nut and a socket to go in. (Pic 1) I then checked the angles in the plane for where I wanted the hose lines to exit and drew some arrows on bits of tape… just to be sure..

The left side has the fuel pickup going forward to a stop cock and above that the fuel return after the regulator pointing in the opposite direction and slightly up. The right side has the 3/8″ vent line exiting near the top of the sump, missing the control stick push rods, and just a little lower a spot for that fuel warning sensor.

I mixed up some of my precious fuel resistant epoxy and potted the fittings with pure epoxy and then plenty of flox. I’m not expecting any leaks. For the sensor which is an NPT fitting I just added flox to seal the foam to the glass and will set that fitting in situ.
