A couple of hours yesterday and most of today was spent prepping the canopy rail area. I had to add a little pour foam around the turtleback and then sand it smooth. There were also a few areas of the foam that were soft. I don’t really know why but I dug it out, mix more foam and set it in place and sanded it back.
I also spent a while getting the transition canopy to rail smooth and ensuring ALL the protective plastic and tapes were removed from the bonding area before a good sand of the surface with 120grit. It is not a very exiting process and not a lot to see like so many parts of the build but it must be done well.
When I was relatively happy I mixed a batch of micro and added that to the blue foam areas and filled in a few holes while I was at it. Tomorrow I’ll sand all this smooth and dull and look at the layup schedule. As I’m sort of inside out to the plans it is up to me to work something out. The major layups will be on the inside of the canopy rail.
