I used exacto saws for making the canopy cuts. I have a bunch of them from a hobby shop. I also needed something longer and thinner so I ground down a hacksaw blade and that was useful as well.
Here’s the hacksaw at work. I really didn’t want to cut the longerons! A bit of a hint would be to have the hatches done before this step so you can stick your head in and see what you are doing.
The side lips were a bit of a challenge and I spent quite a while grinding off excess overlap before starting on the canopy removal process.
Here’s the turtleback cut. All of these were done free hand and worked out OK.
