Exciting times. The first step on the wings. Not that I want to wing walk or anything….
The winglets look like an easier place to start.
As you can see I have the CnC cut cores from Eureka. The cost of importing the correct foam from the USA is obscene and nearly the same price as cut cores so thats the way I went.
It seems many of the pieces are cut to fit the packing case so I have quite a lot of joins to make.
For the winglets its just two pieces for now. After a lot of thought I used the waste shapes as clamping holders and made a gluing rig to do the job.
I’m also using a glue from Sika called SikaBond Techgrip. It fills the cells really well as it expands as it cures and is lighter than micro and sandable. Its a polyurethane glue that I ‘heard’ Bert is OK with.
