The ailerons needed some cleaning up to fit again in the wing slots. I’ve made the minimum clean up to get a tight fit as you see in pic 1. There will be some trimming of the aileron to wing inboard gap later to the plans requirements. My idea is to have the least material removal now so that I can get the gap just right later. Its still slightly proud as you can see which will get sorted as I make the fit.
Pic 2 shows they do go back in place. Yaaaa!
Pic 3 is where I have cut the 6 hinges to size. They have to be reversed so they get more opening angles where you need it. The plans make this all clear.
I’ve again spent some time going over things for the aileron build. I’ve kept notes for years whenever I come across anything for the build and you can see a printed sheet with a few good tips highlighted. I review these saved items for every chapter so I can avoid some of the older mistakes.
The critical placement of the hardwear will effect the balance and has to be right…whatever that is. Lets just say it must fit perfectly and balance perfectly. The plans could be more detailed.
