Its a couple of years since I put the engine mount on and the rust has set in.
I finally removed the loaned engine as I can’t see any more progress on that until the real engine arrives. As I’m working on the control system that mount is in the way.
After a light sand I’ve gone for the ‘rust converter’ liquid. A couple of coats of that and another light sand and I was ready for undercoat.
A few coats of the traditional green aviation undercoat is now underway. Its an odd shape so once dry I’d turn it over and spray the bits I missed. I’m planing a two pack spray in an off white colour.
The guys in the hangar where I rent a small corner were painting a P28 Warrior with this two pack off white They very kindly did a great job on my engine mount while they had some paint in the gun. I’m extemely grateful. A few minutes with their set up saved me a lot of time and being two pack a much better paint than I would have used with a rattle can.
