I made a couple more foam mounts for the rear battery but first glassed the insides of them as access is easier.
I microed the blocks in place as the bottoms were still foam and ensured enough side clearance to get the nose lift cover off.
Next up was floxing on the rear battery holders which I did with the batteries in place to ensure correct positioning. After cure I trimmed everything back for the nose lift cover.
Finally everything was in place but not really strong enough for 7lb batteries. I made a series of two ply pieces.
Again with the batteries in place I added the reinforcing tapes to beef up my mount.
After cure and a good clean up trim the pieces are done and quite strong.
All thats left is to make some sort of retaining strap over the top of the batteries. I haven’t decided what to do here for now, there are plenty of options that will work. Time to get on with the strakes!
