Before leaving the canopy I wanted to get a start on the front and back lips. First up the front which now has a pretty big gap.
I started out making the canopy side curve as good as I could by eye and then added masking tape and drew lines.
Next up was a good route. I’m still not 100% on how I’d going to seal this. It would be a good idea perhaps to have this in mind first. My idea is to juts make a lip on the canopy side and leave the fuselage side bare. I covered the ‘receiving side’ with duct tape and got to doing the layup.
I used 4 ply of BID with about a 1.7″ width to lay across the slot.
Despite how the photo looks its a pretty good fit.
You can see I have a lip here. Its not quite right at the sides. Those will get sorted out after the stakes are built and I can then see what I need to do. This is fine for now.
