Now to remove all the hot glue then sand the tape area on the outsides. All this pant work was over several days. This is the easier part of the process. This step was the outside tapes, again 2 ply of BID. I got it done.
What I really wanted to know is has the effort so far been worth it, making a third set of pants! Here are the numbers for the pants at this stage compared to the ones I bought.
James
Front 1lb 1.5oz (2lb 3oz) Rear 1lb 7.5oz (2lb 15oz)
Total 5lb 1oz
Mine
Front 10oz, 10.2oz (1lb 4.7oz) Rear 12.5oz, 12.9oz (1lb 7.3oz)
Total 2lb 12oz
The weight saving is 2lbs 5 oz. It has made the install job MUCH harder as I’m adding to this log down the track a little and know the grief. It is a big weight saving… and that is always important for this build.
