I spent much of the day removing the two wooden inside supports for the winglet now it was right side up again on the table. No pics for this.. just some hours of being really careful to get all the 5my flox reinforced glue off the wings and winglets and clean the whole area up. Given the wings were transported on a trailer I am still happy that I overdid the reinforcements.
Pic 2 shows the UNI layups marked out and the BID too. In this shot it looks just like the plans picture but every other angle is looking …well… angled. For the UNI to remain straight and over the diagonal join it just has to be a certain way.
This all took well into the night. I cut out the foil pieces, all the glass and had everything ready to go for the next day layup. I also write out a procedure sheet for these things which outlines the steps and I tick them off as I go. Works for me.
Pic three is really from the next day. I had a slot left in this log so here’s how I lay down BID on an upright. Yeap, a bit of gaffer tape. Gaffer fixes everything
