This was a nice easy job. I made up the 2 ply of BID on foil and wetted out the FC1 area with pure epoxy after giving it a good scrub with the scotch brite type pads.
Last time I did this on the right wing I was concerned about the overhang with the hard points and what to do with the slight excess of cloth on the edges and so on. This time nothing was a problem. I know how it works.
Pic three may be of some interest. I’m using the clamp as a sort of fence to ensure the weights on the hardpoints don’t slide around. They will tend to being on wet epoxy. Oh and I used a very wet mix of flox for the hardpoints to fill any small gaps between the cured FC1 shear web layup and the BID and 2024 T3 metal.
I would have done this when I glued the leading edge on but one of the clamps was in the way for that. I’d rather get it right and lose a day. It does give me time for this log entry.
