You can see the ‘take up slack’ collar in pic 1. Works a treat although I need some special washers to finish it off.
So now I have the sticks installed and looking good. Took a while…. Now I’m not sure about those bulkheads where I’ve moved the sticks to what I think is Long-EZ plans position. I’m happy with the stick to sides placement in my flying plane so I’m going to go out tomorrow and measure front and back relative to the right side.
If I have to remake the stick bulk heads, so be it. They have great clearance now but I’m worried that in a right turn while the top of the stick is clear the bottom may bump into my right leg. VH-JZE has correct aileron movement that I measured recently so I can check the extent of the stick movement and see if I’ve compensated too much. I’m thinking I might be able to move .5″ towards the right side. A lot of reworking sure but this is a tight cockpit and controls are critical.
In a few days I’ll have it done one way or another. Even if its a bunch of extra work. I think the controls are going to work out well.
