Today it was clean up the edges of the inside layup. I was careful as this could delam easily being only one ply and used the dremel with a sandpaper disk to cut the bulk of the excess off. Then the rough permagrit file followed by the fine file.
Yesterdays internal layup went better than I thought and looked pretty good although not really pretty.
Next job was to micro in the two internal bulkheads as in Pic two. I checked and rechecked that these were in the correct position. The plans are pretty clear on this if you read them several times….
After they were set a few hours and with a couple of long pins to hold them I went ahead with the one ply of BID as in pic 3. This is on the side that doesn’t get the big reinforcement, it just gets one ply so a good place to start. I measured and then did the layup on foil and transferred to the bulkhead.
I did peel ply the edges and I might do a bit more sanding later just to make this section nice. It becomes a baggage area so some of it will be seen in the completed plane.
