Finally the nose is going back together! Yaaaaa! I had a bit of a think about the method. Its a big hatch after all and not to plans. I decided that glass to glass via flox would make the best join.
This needed little flox corners and all the foam off those glass areas. You can see in pic 1 where I’ve begun this process. Pic 2 shows flox filled grooves on the receiving side. I also piled it up a bit before the join. So we have the inside and outside of the nose top and bottom parts all floxed together, glass to glass. The flox I made really dry or thick if you like. The extra weight of wet flox wouldn’t do the job here.
Pic 3 shows that I’ve gone crazy with sticks and hot glue to try and get the nose rejoined as perfectly as I could. Well maybe you can’t see all this hot glue, I used quite a few sticks.
Pic three also shows the outside of the join with one ply of BID and peel ply. All good!
