This is the right hand side of the nose interior layup.
Perhaps I should have glassed the sides and then laid up with tapes. It would have been easier. I made a paper template quite accurately after working out what overlaps were. The plans are no help really.
I marked this all out of foil and then did a two ply layup and cut to size. I made a few extra cuts for bending around things as part of the glass goes to the sides aft of F22 and part I laid up on the face of F22. This was my choice as I think it will tie the nose in better.
I first micro-slurried the side and let it sit for a while.
I moved the foiled glass on two plastic chopping boards which are great for cutting out on as well as stiff enough to move items. It worked out OK and the glass was positioned nicely.
Then it was a lot of time getting most of the air out. I’m still not 100% happy getting all the air out of BID layups.
I peel plied the entire side as I’ll probably need a few hardpoints and things. Oh and I did do the 3 ply Canard attachment area layup and peel plied that as well.
