The main gear tabs fitted after all the work which was satisfying. However early on in the set up before glassing the tabs, I made a mistake on where I measured something from. This meant the gear was out so off with the Tabs!!
It took a couple of days and I got them off almost as if there were never there. No damage at all to the leg or the torsional layup.
These things happen. I’ll do an even better job this time..almost as if it was my second build. I expect the layups will be a lot easier and quicker. The good news is that there was no air in the layup which I could see as I removed it.
The third pic shows the new plywood tab forms all ready to go. I made them a touch longer this time… now I understand how it all works. Better to trim a little than be caught short.
It fits!
It’s wrong!
