These pics show some more of the cleanup before the first tab layups. I was a little worried about the transition between the timber that would be removed later and the gear leg. I didn’t want any bondo type filler in there as it is all structural.
Just to be sure I dug out all the bondo and filled the area with flox. Later most of it was removed but I still think this step was worth doing. The Tabs seem to position slightly differently to the plans and I didn’t like the small gaps.
The last pic was done a few days later and shows the grey duct tape over one of the four tabs. It made it pretty easy to get the plywood formers off later.
