This step was done over several days and required routing the step down edge of where the brake goes onto the fuselage. I use a router box for this which is shown in the next log entry.
Here I have also routed the brake depression another 1/16th of an inch to allow for later external layers of glass in the depression.
The edges of the cutout were also smoothed carefully using masking tape and old 80 grit paper slowly to make a nice transition for when the fuselage exterior is done. I’m trying to avoid any sudden steps that might be a trap for air.
The inside of the brake area will be covered in duct (release) tape. The 1 inch overlap is the important part for now.
